■Topic: Sudan: Torn in Two & Tired of Fighting

A nation which only until recently agreed to end a 20 year conflict that saw two million dead and four million displaced from their homes. Though the North & South finally agreed on a trial separation, violence has escalated and the country remains on a knife-edge. The people await with great the fear the results of next year’s referendum. Welcome to Sudan.

We will provide an energetic platform for all attendees to learn, analyse, and discuss the current situation and the worrying future of Sudan and their people. We are determined to bring to life the harsh realities they face in extreme poverty and how they deal with the threat of violence from local tribes and Armies. "The International Volunteer Group (IVG) offers English workshops for people from all walk of life who are interested in learning about global issues, what Oxfam is doing and how each of us can make a change.
Both volunteering instructors and participants do not only enjoy friendly and active workshops but also support Oxfam in a meaningful way.
It is also a good chance for non-native English speakers to practice English skills in a fun and interesting way. Workshop fee goes totally to support Oxfam."
